Founded in 1984 the series covers a wide range of themes related to the experiences of people of African descent in all parts of the world. Studies published in the series employ the methodologies of several disciplines and deal with concerns of historical and contemporary significance. These works are the products of current scholarship and reflection about the worlds with which people of African descent have had to contend, worlds that they have built through their own creative agency, and worlds that they aspire to create that may already be woven into the threads of current discussion and thought. The dynamic relations between past, present, and future are the core concerns of this forward-looking series. Contact: Bob Sloan, rjsloan@indiana.edu
