Break Away Books

The innovative creative writing of Break Away Books includes novels, short stories, memoirs, and essays for a national audience with a Midwestern flavor. Stories turn the heart of the heartland inside out, eschewing neat and tidy endings. Fresh and exciting authors foreground the experiences of people who often aren't written about due to gender, sexual preference, profession, location, or lifestyle. Submissions are accepted twice a year during the month of October and the month of March. Submissions including full manuscript and cover letter may be addressed to: Ashley Runyon, Acquisitions Editor, asrunyon@iu.edu.
