The managing editorial department is responsible for overseeing copyediting and managing books throughout the publication process. Duties of an editorial intern will include but are not limited to copyediting indexes, proofreading manuscripts, and preparing manuscripts for Production and Design. Interns work closely with project managers to develop their editorial skills and familiarity with the academic publishing landscape.
Qualifications include exceptional written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, a strong interest in book publishing, and general comfort in a computer-based professional environment. Additional expertise in design, foreign languages, or other related areas is a plus.
This is an unpaid internship; we seek candidates who are motivated to apply knowledge gained during the internship in a future professional endeavor, whether working in publishing or publishing a manuscript with an academic press.
