IUP/Journals celebrates its 25th year of publishing excellence in 2012. Our 28 scholarly journals play an important part in today’s increasingly global dialogue and feature essays, fiction, poetry, and art in a wide range of subject areas, including African studies, Jewish and Middle East studies, globalism, philosophy, religion, bioethics, folklore, electronic services, film, transnationalism, cultural studies, and environmental ethics. They are available in print and online. Eight of our journals are published at home by Indiana University scholars.

African Conflict & Peacebuilding Review (ACPR) is an interdisciplinary forum for creative and rigorous studies of conflict and peace in Africa and for discussions between scholars, practitioners, and public intellectuals in Africa, the United States, and other parts of the world. The goal of the journal is to translate knowledge into tools that can make a difference to society in a world in which ideas and actions are locked together. "The purpose of knowledge," says ACPR editor Abu Bakarr Bah, "is not knowledge for the sake of knowing, but knowledge for the sake of improving the human condition." Read more.
Coming in 2012! Spectrum: A Journal on Black Men, Edited by Judson L. Jeffries, Terrell L. Strayhorn Spectrum: A Journal on Black Men is a multidisciplinary research journal whose articles will focus on issues related to aspects of Black men’s experiences, including such topics as gender, masculinities, and race/ethnicity. Spectrum will examine the social, political, economic, and historical factors that influence the life chances and experiences of African-descended males using disciplinary and interdisciplinary theoretical perspectives, empirical methods, theoretical analysis, and literary criticism. Housed in the Department of African American and African Studies at the Ohio State University, the editorial board includes scholars with interests ranging from English and sociology to education policy and leadership. Spectrum will be published semiannually beginning in 2012. It will be a space where advocacy and imagination meet in order to reveal a global, complex Black manhood from the dawning of modernity through the present time. Questions regarding submissions may be sent to spectrum@osu.edu.
